Eco Fashion

With the advent of the new millennium, fashion has become an important and vital part of a common man’s life. It is no longer a far-fetched idea of something only rich people could practice but it has come into the life of a layman like a torrent which has immersed the whole world in its splendor. Now, as a common man can relate to fashion, fashion can also relate to a common man; his requirements, his requests and most of all his problems. The biggest threat in today’s world is-the deteriorating condition of our Eco-system. And so the fashion industry has come up with a new and improved method of helping in some our Eco crisis. It has come up with a new line under the title of “Eco fashion” or “sustainable fashion”, the goal of Eco fashion products-which range from clothes to non-smoke cigarettes! is to create a system that can help save our environment. A product under Eco-fashion is created under careful consideration of its environmental and social impact throughout its total life span.

Although many designer’s have been using and experimenting with organic and natural fibers for years, but the official term of “eco-fashion” came out in the famed New York Fashion week of 2005, where “EarthPledge” teamed up “Barneys” to sponsor their special runway event called “FutureFashion”. One of the pioneers of the eco-fashion movement is Linda Loudermilk, she uses in her clothing and accessories products made from exotic plants, like; bamboo, sea cell, soya and sasawashi. This new trend of environment friendly fashion is going to take the industry and this world to a new and improved state, while making us happy it will also make the environment happy. Which is and should the long term goal of every conscious man, because if our only goal would be to look “pretty”, it wouldn’t really last when the scorching heat of the sun is smoldering our face when we have destroyed the ozone layer which protected it!
