Years ago these words would have reminded me of a very frequently aired T.v commercial but nowadays it seems to be coming out of almost every girl’s mouth! one often sees a girl made up prettily from her perfectly straight hair down to her neatly manicured feet ….but there is an item in her ensemble that doesn’t quite appeal to anyone’s aesthetic sense; a small piece of tissue paper sticking out of the back of her pumps, stilettos or khussas! Long gone are those days when Bata and Service used to rule the shoe industry of Pakistan, nowadays every market is filled with good shoe shops which have shelves and shelves packed with the best shoes that one can find there are; strappy shoes, block heels, platforms, glittery shoes, and even shoes with embroidery on them, but unfortunately fashion has taken over comfort! And it won't be wrong to say that what we have gained in number we have lost in quality. Even if you pay R.S 1000 for a pair of shoes, you find yourself wincing in pain and stumbling to find your balance the next day; deeply regretting spending your precious money on this piece of shit! This is a distress call for to all of those manufacturers that sit on their high horses and think that they have given Pakistan a new life in footwear; please wake up and smell the roses; because all you have given us is an ornamented foot ache! It is also an appeal to all of those buyers, who throw their money away in exchange for discomfort, please wakeup!!
