WHEN THE WARM BREEZE STARTS TO BLOW…

As soon as the warm and balmy June breeze starts to blow, people from all over the country flock away in search for a more pleasant environment. They go to the north, to breathe in the pure and unpolluted air, or they go for backpacking in any exotic European country. If at this particular time, you find your self at the airport, you can not help but notice men and women and sometimes even small children hauling and pushing massive suitcases into the trolley or out of the trolley, and it makes you wonder whether these people are going on vacation or moving?!? The question I’m trying to ask is that why do people not travel lightly, or to put it more easily, why do people not travel sensibly?

While some people tend to travel “practically”, other style conscious people just gather heaps and heaps of clothes because they just can not compromise on their appearance! I have seen some women stuff eight inch pencil heels into their suitcases while going to a hill station because they think high heels show off their good posture! To these women I dedicate this article, because I’m going to show them how to travel sensibly, not lightly but sensibly!

The first thing to do is; eliminate the extras. Stand in front of your closet, and give every piece of clothing that you own a thorough examination and think to your self, “Will I need this?” I’m sure if you have done this task truthfully, you will have already eliminated a lot of things to put in your baggage, but if you are still hesitant on some stuff, I’ll give you some tips; if you are flying abroad make sure you have at least 2 pairs of comfortable casual jeans and five to six tops, not silk tops! Cotton or linen tops. Jeans work in all kinds of weather and situations, and if you add a few accessories to your casual jeans ensemble you are ready for a formal event also. Don’t forget it’s a vacation not your sister’s wedding, so don’t pack any bulky clothes, because you will never wear them and they will just end up taking up your suitcase space. If you are venturing for any hill station, the most essential thing to pack is a pair of comfortable joggers or sneakers; because you just cannot hike and trek in heels or flip flops no matter how cute they look on you. Also pack something a little warmer for the night because the weather is unpredictable. You should only carry two formal dresses for any vacation on the chance that you should go to a fancy place for dinner or for drinks. Always think and plan before putting anything in your luggage!

To put it in a nutshell, while you are traveling to get away from this hot and humid weather, always think of comfort before pretension
